This week's Side Mount Bottom techniques are part of Week 14 of the GB3 No-Gi module with Prof. Braulio Estima.

For many Gracie Barra students, the worst place to find themselves is caught underneath a heavy Side Mount. Prof. Braulio Estima has some advanced techniques to help to look to escape and surprise counterattack your opponent.
In our first video, we find Prof. Braulio in a tough spot with his opponent having an under-hook and a cross face on top. While keeping his arms in a safe position, Prof. Braulio looks to bridge to create room to move on bottom - looking to an angle where the opponent has weaker balance.
Pay attention to: How Prof. Braulio uses the opponent's reaction to the bridge to get the opponent to post the hand on the mat so Prof. Braulio can reach over and hook with his foot and get the leg entanglement. The opponent taps from Americana like pressure on the shoulder.

In video #2, Prof. Braulio shows one of his signature moves - the inverted triangle. The setup is the same as the first move, but the opponent has straightened their arm negating the Americana.
Important detail: "The biggest mistake people make with the inverted triangle is try to do the same thing from here (flat on the back). It doesn't work guys! This is not the best triangle. I have to turn so I can get it properly."
