This week's Guard Bottom techniques are part of Week 1 of the GB3 No-Gi module with Prof. Braulio Estima
Have you checked out the GB Online Instagram account?
This week we will be looking at a strategy to get the match to the ground without giving our opponent any advantage (or surrendering takedown points) and also how to immediately connect the guard pull to go on the offensive.
To start the video, Prof. Braulio is hand fighting in the standing position and looking for a 2 on 1 grip to gain control of his opponent before sitting to guard.
The most important idea is to bring the match to the ground where you are in control and arrive in a favorable position. Note how Prof. Braulio says not to pull the opponent into him, but to push the opponent's hand straight down to the mat.
